What is this Committee for?

For a Scout Group to run, there MUST be a Group Executive Committee (Exec).

It is responsible for providing the resources for the sections to be able to run their activities, to promote the Group, to set a budget for the Group and to keep proper financial records.

The Committee MUST have the following elected positions filled :

a Chairman, a Secretary, a Treasurer

In order to function properly, it also has parent representatives for each of the sections.

The Group Scout Leader and the Section Leaders are ex-officio members of the Exec.

 

How is it elected?

Each year, the Group is required to hold an AGM.

At this meeting, the Group's accounts are formally presented by the Treasurer and the Exec posts are elected.

All adult leaders, Scout members and parents of members are invited to this meeting and are able to vote and/or stand for any of the Exec committee posts.
